* Methodology Course Situation Analysis .*

The idea of course comes from realizing that in the political, social, in meetings, assemblies or community organizations, political meetings and other areas we talked a lot of analysis of the situation, the political scene is coming, what will happen, to discuss with "objectivity" of things, of what happened without realize, of alternatives, of hope, of revolution come tomorrow or by next month, which will, etc. We think that we all speak the same language and, but if you scratch a little, we realize that each person brings ghosts charging bias determined by the personal, family, for education, in our experience, religion and many and many webs that make us see the reality, or the same event differently.

We realize that consciously or unconsciously, everyone has a different perception of the world, history, facts. That we all talk about scenarios but everyone understands their own way, as when we speak of the balance of power, capitalism, neoliberalism, actors. If however, all people use a methodology to analyze reality. It may be unconscious, complete, incomplete, adequate or consistent, but all we have to live, survive and see the world. Therefore, the course will seek to table a methodology and tools to help us better see the reality and transform. To better see Oaxaca and transform.

The working will 4 modules of two days each, with 1 intermediate working day between sessions to discuss material before each module.

10th International Congress of Mammals

For the first time in South America will be held from Sunday 9 to Friday 14 August, in the Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 10 th International Congress organized by CCT Mammal CONICET Mendoza.

Mendoza In the land inhabited by mammals such as guanacos, opossums and viscacha, it will hold a meeting of more than 1,200 specialists, among whom are researchers, practitioners, scholars and students from all continents, with the objective exchange studies of mammalogy (discipline which includes both living and extinct mammals.)

These scholars, more than 50 countries, dedicated his life to researching aspects of the sub-disciplines of biology: of marsupials for cetaceans, from bats to carnivores including paleontology, physiology, morphology, ecology, biogeography, pasaritología, conservation, systematics and evolution.

The program of the 10 th International Meeting includes symposia, workshops and poster presentations, by professionals [1] class from around the world, including Australia, United States, Israel, Russia and Europe. In addition, postdoctoral fellows involved and degree of various disciplines who can interact with the presenters, enriching ideas in this field of research.

In the more than 45 symposia, will discuss genetics, ecology, Behavior, Biogeography, Global Conservation of Biodiversity, Conservation Strategies, State and notably certain groups as carnivores, camels, marsupials, edentulous and others. Also, included two symposia in honor of Darwin, 200 years after his birth and being who he joined the man in the animal kingdom.

This conference was conducted in 9 chances in Moscow (USSR) 1974, Brno (Czechoslovakia) 1978, Helsinki (Finland) 1982, Edmonton (Canada) 1985, Rome (Italy) 1989, Sydney (Australia) 1993, Acapulco (Mexico) 1997, Sun City
(South Africa) 2001, Sapporo (Japan) 2005. On this occasion, Mendoza will be the first South American city to host the international scientific meeting.

Distinguished specialists Mammal international congress in Mendoza

Sunday Between 9 and Friday 14 August, will take place the 10th International Congress of Mammals, in Mendoza, Argentina. It is the first carried out in Latin America. Professionals and students from various disciplines related to mammals, have the unique opportunity to renew contacts with colleagues and interact with professionals who know only his books and articles. Note: Ricardo Ojeda-doctor in Ecology - Group Head of Biodiversity Research (IPF)-IADIZA-CONICET Mendoza. rojeda@mendoza-conicet.gov.ar . Edit-Editor: Myriam Arancibia - LaDyOT-IADIZA. This
Mammal Congress, is the tenth international and the first carried out in Latin America. It is a very important event for Argentina and, especially, to Mendoza. Professionals and students from various disciplines related to the mammals have a unique opportunity to renew contacts with colleagues and students to interact with professionals who know only his books and articles. "The possibilities and opportunities of this Congress," says Ricardo Ojeda, head of the Organizing Committee, are excellent for the discipline (mammalogy), in particular, to biology, ecology, biogeography, paleontology, etc.., In general, and the assistance of leading specialists in the United States, Europe, Australia, Israel, Russia. "
Participation of undergraduate and graduate
The participation of young students is key to any discipline that has growth prospects. This occurs in areas as biology, ecology, biogeography, conservation biology. Faced with the challenges and environmental challenges faced on a daily basis, you need more professional and better prepared and trained. "For the realization of this international-Ojeda added," has received anonymous donations (several thousands of dollars) , federations and scientific associations. The money will be used to cover stipends and, in large measure, to enable effective participation of students from developing countries (Latin America, Africa and parts of Eastern Europe). "
Due to the multiplicity of related areas with the study of mammals living and extinct, Congress will be held from Sunday 9 to Friday 14 August, full-time. On Sunday a very prominent researcher in Israel, will present the keynote address. In addition, a training issue of the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
The overall structure is based on symposia, workshops and posters. In the area of symposia, symposia will be 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. On Wednesday, will be occupied in part because there will be workshops in the morning and afternoon, optional excursions and outings, as well as the Assembly of the Federation International.
Darwin and the human fauna
a tribute to Darwin 200 years after his birth, being one of those who were not clearly separated from God's creation but part of the animal as any animal within the Congress will be two symposiums which refer to Darwin. One, travel to South America (Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile) and the other, analyzing it in perspective, since the original observations to the present, from the viewpoint of ecology.
The challenge
"For the GIB (Group Biodiversity Research), the IADIZA-CONICET Mendoza is a good challenge, "says Dr. Ojeda. "A year and a half-continues-we knew this was possible only if we had an institutional infrastructure to give us support. That happened with the CONICET Mendoza, in particular IADIZA and within the IPF, they are all working in different areas: answering hundreds of emails a day, solve the problem of panels for posters, menu for dinner, snack bar, the coffee breaks, etc.. "
IPF director emphasizes support of the Directorate of CONICET Mendoza, to make available the various departments (Computing, Magraf, etc) that allowed face the responsibility.
Why Mendoza?
the end of each International Congress, made the presentation of the country hosting the next meeting. So that there are 4 years to work. The decision went to Chile. But in late 2008, Ricardo Ojeda, received a communication from the President of the International Federation, stating that Chile, for various reasons, could not organize it. Another proposal is to do in Mendoza. "We had to decide whether we were able to accept and, after a couple of weeks of consultation with our scientific association SAREM (Argentina Society for the Study of Mammals) colleagues from Chile and those places were available that could accommodate over 1,000 people (Convention and Exhibition Centre and Auditorium Buestelo), we discussed a couple of alternative dates and accept the offer. " For the ecologist, "is worthy to note that we began to work with, almost, 2 years behind and joined the global financial crisis and, ultimately, the issue of emerging diseases. Only a group working together and committed can overcome many difficulties. "
This amount of complications did not affect the call. There are over 1,100 enrolled, an amount that exceeds the call for Japan, which hosted the last Congress. Data
• The mammalogy is the study of both living and extinct mammals. Includes studies of basic biology, physiology, systematics, taxonomy, ecology, biogeography, conservation, paleontology, and more. By grouping all disciplines and subdisciplines within this large area.
• As recent data, more than 1,100 enrolled, of whom more than 50% are from Latin America. There will be a major change from the Congress in the coming years.
• The official body that houses all the specialists is the International Federation of Mammalogy, in this Congress, will discuss their legislation and regulations; Mammalogy Scientific Societies of all countries are part of the Federation.
