The long-awaited publication of Atlatnis Embers [ Embers of Atlantis] is expected to later this summer (in English). But for fans anxiously wait for any length of time may seem heartless. Fortunately, the bestselling author Tracy Hickman has agreed to whet your appetite with a two-part interview, communicating some of his thoughts on the future book!. In Atlantis Embers, the first novel based on the famous stage role play Fireborn, powerful rods through the streets of modern London, oblivious to their true nature. Unknowingly carry the reincarnated spirits of dragons a mythical age. As the magic begins to emerge again in the twenty-first century, long dormant memories began to flood the minds of these stems, reminding them of their mystical heritage.
Merging the Modern World with Fantasy
FFG: What is your favorite part of the world Fireborn?.
TH: My favorite part of the world Fireborn recognizable is the fusion of the modern world with the worlds of classic fantasy epic. How to integrate vampires in the North End of London?. Is there a gremlin in Heathrow?. Putting these fantastic elements in familiar places has been encouraging.
FFG: What would you say about your favorite character in the world of Fireborn?.
TH: My favorite character world would certainly Fireborn Joe, the leader of the Resistance evening. I was able to extend its character to some extent in the book and it was nice. In the book, we had to examine the monster known as the "vampire" and even had to make fun of the stereotype wrong of the monster as a romantic figure redeemable. The monsters are not redeemable, they want their prey to think they are just that.
FFG: Ember What part of Atlantis was more exciting to write?.
TH: I have to admit that was the part that takes place in Normandy, France. I have visited Caen and the beaches of Normandy with my family several years ago. Also, something like an amateur enthusiast of World War II since he was a teenager, bringing back Nazi zombies of death to re-fight the battles of Normandy was a special challenge for me. Rommel even makes a brief guest appearance.
Then too, the highlight of the book takes place in the Mont Saint Michel, a particularly magic that once was thought to reflect the myths of Atlantis. I have special memories of visiting that magical place and it was wonderful to use these memories while writing the climax of the book.
FFG: What inspires you to write?.
TH: It is important to choose the right book to read while you're writing a book that gives color to the book you are writing. So I have always careful with what I'm reading as I write. But I would say my personal style is very influenced by two very different sources: Stephen King and Stephen Leacock.
'm sure you've heard about the first but the second is currently my favorite author. Is a Lecturer and Professor of Economics Canadian early 1900. His works, Sunshine , Sketches of a Little Town and Arcadian Adventures Among the Idle Rich , are wonderful, and Nonsense Novels, the delight of a writing. I recommend you busqueis.
FFG: What advice would you give to young writers?.
TH: People want to know the secret to writing a bestseller ... the silver bullet or golden key to successfully maintaining the authors blind to the world. The truth is that there is no elixir, no secret will recall a letter to success. What is true is that it takes hard work, dedication to the art and a lot of talent to take place. My wife, Laura, and I help novice writers to explore the art in our online writing seminars www.scribesforge.com, emphasizing discipline and talent must be added by the writer.
FFG: Finishing, "of all our games, which you like better, if any?.
TH: I have long admired Fantasy Flight Games. I used to play War of the Ring with my son, Jarod, before becoming a missionary for our church. Return this summer and will seek to play with him again. I also enjoy playing Arkham Horror with my daughter, Tasha. Tannhäuser also remain a favorite, and my whole family plays Talisman. Now my attention is with Dust Tactics ... fun, fast and beautiful pieces of play.
not let your mind dozed off!. The second part of the interview with Tracy Hickman, author of Atlatnis Ember is next. Stay tuned in the coming weeks.
